How do we make sense of his Kehinde's work? Identify intertextuality in Kehinde's work?

** In throughout Wiley's work, its is clear that his expressive style raises issues surrounding racism and such, within the world. Kehinde's work pays homage particularly to the African-American community, portraying the urban 'negro man' in unfamiliar situations for the urban 'negro man'. Due to the factors of racism and stereotyping, the African-American male community in particular "is" under a shadow of which is still present in today's society. The artist implies the ideas of equality and unity in his pieces, as well as being recognized for 'refining and re-writing' artist history, descending from such artists as Reynolds, Gainsborough, Titan and Ingres. These examples can be seen in his collection "The World Stage" which is evocative of the 'elaborate life' and royalty.

Kehinde's work relates to this weeks Post Modern theme "PLURALISM" re-read page 50 and discuss how the work relates to this theme?

**As explained above, Kehinde gives recognition to the African-American male by portraying such, in situations common of the 'upper class, western white male' of the world. His portraits evoke equality and unity. Also, his gay sexuality adds to this issue and how the world perceives his personality. Living in and being aware of such discrimination, his art further proves his beliefs in being against homophobia.
